My Hero Academia Funny Screenshots Mina
The superhero anime series My Hero Academia has a "magic high school" element to it, meaning that, even if Izuku Midoriya is the protagonist, this series has a bit of an ensemble cast. Izuku is just one of the students at UA, Japan's top hero school, and many of his classmates are strong contenders for Best Boy and Best Girl.
When it comes to Best Girl, it's tough to choose a winner, since this series as developed all the girls into cool, lovable, tough heroes in training. But, suppose it came down to Tsuyu Asui, the frog-themed hero, versus Mina Ashido, the girl who can fling acid? They are fan-favorites, and it's time to settle on a winner.
10 Tsuyu: She's Responsible
All of these heroes in training are adolescents, and they are sometimes bratty, insecure, or petty, like any other young adult who's trying to figure him/herself out. This is especially true of Katsuki Bakugo, but certainly not Tsuyu Asui.
Instead, Tsuyu has a calm, mature attitude that makes her like a big sister—like Itsuka Kendo of class 1-B—and she can handle anyone who acts out or misbehaved around her. She's a good foil to the likes of Bakugo or Mineta.
9 Mina: Handled A Villain In Middle School
This is something that happened in one of Eijiro Kirishima's flashbacks, and it proved that even before going to UA, Mina had the spirit of a hero. A towering, scary guy confronted her and her friends, demanding to know where the local hero agency was.
Kirishima was astounded when Mina bravely stepped forward and gave him directions, tricking him into going to the local police station. It was stressful and scary for Mina, but she pulled it off, and that's impressive.
8 Tsuyu: Balanced Hero
Some of the students in class 1-A have a major drawback as a hero, or insecurities that are weighing them down. Koji Koda was incredibly shy, for example, and Momo and Yuga Aoyama are poorly suited for dueling.
Tsuyu, by contrast, is arguably the best-balanced student hero in 1-A since she is smart, can make battle plans, maneuver with ease, and fight either as a backup or as a melee fighter. Aizawa himself noted that Tsuyu can do a bit of everything.
7 Mina: Dance Moves
Some students at UA have particular hobbies or talents outside of their studies, and Mina's is very helpful for her combat style: she is a good dancer. This makes her agile and graceful on the battlefield, such as when she dodged Yoga's lasers.
Not only that, but Mina was the dance coach for all of her classmates during the school festival, and she was able to get everyone ready for their big show, all by herself. Not just anyone could pull that off.
6 Tsuyu: Heartfelt Confession
Bakugo got himself abducted by the League of Villains, and several of his classmates, led by Izuku, charged in to rescue him. This was incredibly risky and dangerous, and Aizawa nearly expelled those students, along with a few others, for such a breach of conduct.
Tsuyu was heartbroken that her friends risked their lives and nearly destroyed their friendships by making such a move, and she made this clear to the entire class through a haze of tears. It was a touching scene that really helped bring class 1-A back together.
5 Mina: The Nosy Friend
Everyone has that one friend who has to shove their nose into everyone else's business, and, in the case of hero class 1-A, that friend is Mina, who can sense a budding romance from a mile away, even if it's just in her imagination.
Mina is tasteful about it, though, and that's what makes it funny instead of obnoxious. She is sure that Ochaco really does love Izuku, and she's elated that Ms. Joke is into Aizawa. She's a matchmaker machine.
4 Tsuyu: Pursued Smuggler Villains
Tsuyu took an internship with Selkie, a seal-like pro hero who works with Sirius. Tsuyu put up with mundane work with the heroes, but the internship heated up when Selkie ended up being captured by a squad of villains.
To set things right, Tsuyu ran off to find the villains' base of operations, and she confronted powerful villains long enough for the heroes to find her and take over. It was a bit reckless, but it worked, and Tsuyu was commended for her work.
3 Mina: Funny Aliens Theme
Mina already has a rather exotic appearance, from her pink skin and those two horns on her head to her black scleras. She decided to lean even further into that theme with her suggested hero name, Ridley Hero: Alien Queen.
Midnight rejected it, though, since it was too scary. But, it was still so much fun to see this pop culture reference come out of nowhere, and with such an adorable character, too. Her acid quirk sure fuels her imagination.
2 Tsuyu: Happy Family
Perhaps Tsuyu is so attached to her friends because she comes from a large and happy family, so she's used to maintaining strong bonds with other people. She's not used to anyone turning their backs on her.
She has an entire frog-themed family, and she is the sole member to train to become a hero. No doubt her siblings and parents are all inspired, and, since she's the oldest sibling, she's already fully motivated to protect others and inspire them. Becoming a hero was the logical next step.
1 Mina: Great Humor
Many of the characters in class 1-A are pretty funny, but, among the six girls, Mina is no doubt the funniest of them all. That includes her quick propensity to pair up anyone and everyone in her mind and her happy outbursts when something good happens.
She also cried out in horror when Aizawa told her and four other students that they had to take remedial classes with him instead of taking part in the forest courage test. No one else could pull off a "you've got to be kidding me!" like Mina.
